Swab Testing, Consulting, and Clinical Testing.

Eurofins now offers testing for coronavirus on environmental surfaces using Eurofins Technologies’ VIRSeek RT-PCR platform. The VIRSeek test for coronavirus uses an initial screening for the E-gene, which encodes for the envelope surrounding the viral shell and when requested, is used in conjunction with the VIRSeek SARSCoV- 2 Ident kit to specifically identify the pandemic virus. This approach follows the recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO).

This test is appropriate for environmental surfaces (door handles, phones, common touch points, etc.). This test is not a clinical test and should not be used on personnel to determine if they are infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Clinical testing is available for personnel.

Eurofins clinical diagnostic testing can help employers make more informed decisions for how and when to get employees back to work. RT-PCR viral testing is used to diagnose active infection; Antibody IgG and IgM testing can help identify antibody response to the virus after infection. Additionally, antibody testing can identify people that were exposed to the virus and may have developed some level of immunity, but experienced only mild to no symptoms. today!
