Asbestos Analysis

Sidebar Image

We are able to isolate, identify and quantify all types of asbestos (chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite, tremolite, actinolite and anthophyllite) in virtually all types of materials such as cements, vermiculite, insulation materials, as well as floor and ceiling tiles. The centralization of all our equipment under one roof allows us to offer a fast and efficient service for all your asbestos and dust analysis needs.

Services

chrysotile asbestos

Phase contrast microscopy (PCM)

Total fiber count by MCP, according to the IRSST method 243, the NIOSH method 7400, counters recognized by the IRSST.

vermiculite asbestos

Transmission electron microscopy (TEM)

Identification of asbestos fibers in hard and friable materials (insulation, cement, etc.) by MET, according to the IRSST method 244 or the NIOSH 9002 method.

microscope

Polarized light microscopy (MLP) with color dispersion

Characterization of dust and fibers by MLP in solid and friable materials (except floor tiles), water, air and lung tissue samples.

Pointe-Claire's asbestos and dust analysis microscopy laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art technology offering comprehensive analysis for the characterization of asbestos and dust by microscopy for the identification of material components.
